Paradigm Nouveau Enterprises announces 2nd Annual Global Warming Expo
Boulder, CO, February 18, 2008—After an extremely successful event last April, Paradigm Nouveau has announced that plans are under way for the 2nd annual Global Warming Expo in Boulder. This year’s event will be held at the Boulder Theater on April 3, 2008.
The 2007 Global Warming Expo attracted more than 600 participants, providing the community with a cultural phenomenon that inspired people to meet global warming with personal power and vision.
“The final report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has been made public. The world’s scientists have called for everyone to significantly reduce their carbon output,” said Audrey James, CEO of Paradigm Nouveau. “Our 2008 Global Warming Expo will address how to accomplish that goal by blending entertainment, art, science, business and politics such that people naturally make the lifestyle changes necessary to lighten their carbon and water footprints.”
According to James, the 2008 Global Warming Expo will deliver more powerfully than ever before, inspiration, information and personal action.
This year’s highlights include a screening of the updated award-winning documentary "Kilowatt Ours," with filmmaker Jeff Barrie on hand at the event to answer questions and a policy discussion by Tom Plant (director of the state's energy management office). There will be talks for preparedness and water conservation, as well as a question and answer panel including County Commissioner Will Toor, renowned ice scientist Ted Scambos from CU’s National Snow and Ice Data Center, and international consultant Hunter Lovins. Performances will include local sensation “Face” and a piece by acclaimed contemporary dance choreographer Katie Elliott of 3rd Law Dance Theater. Local exhibitors will present solar installations, carbon makeovers, and other real solutions. Each participant receives a Global Warming Action Kit worth hundreds of dollars in discounts and free products such as compact fluorescent light bulbs.
